Organizations and groups led by transgender and gender diverse individuals within and near the MENA region are welcome to apply for group membership with TGRU.

Application Process

1. Download and Complete Application Form:

   • Download the TGRU Group Membership Application and Consent Form.
   • Complete the form with accurate and relevant information.

2. Submission:

   • Send the completed form to: membership@tgru.org.

3. Verification and Approval:

   • Application forms are forwarded to the TGRU board for verification and approval.
   • If the organization is known to the secretariat, the application may be approved immediately.
   • If the organization is not known by the secretariat, it is forwarded to the national representatives for verification.
   • The TGRU Secretariat may ask for more information about the work and meaningful participation of sex workers in the organization.

Membership Categories

TGRU offers the following categories of group membership:

• Full Membership with Voting Rights:

  • Open to groups led by trans and gender diverse individuals who are also sex workers.

• Associate Membership without Voting Rights:

  • Open to groups led by trans and gender diverse individuals that are not sex worker-led but aspire to become sex worker-led and endorse TGRU’s core values.

• Supporting Membership without Voting Rights:

  • Open to international, regional, national, and local groups that endorse TGRU’s core values and wish to show solidarity with TGRU.
